Rumor has it that Jaguar is planning an electric version of its 2010 XJ and it may see the light of production as soon as 2011. Jaguar has produced a test model, a 2011 Jaguar XJ electric car that runs on a plug-in electric system with a small combustion engine for added range. The electric XJ will be powered by a 145kW, 295lb ft electric motor fuelled by a lithium ion battery pack. The batteries will be topped up by a 35kW, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder generator. The Jaguar XJ Electric Car will have a range of 600 miles, combined fuel economy of 47 miles per gallon, and a top speed of 112mph. More images after the jump!
