Yuji Fujimura | ver2 Electric Bike Concept
Industrial designer Yuji Fujimura has developed a unique concept bike utilizing an lithium-ion battery. This means that the bike is rechargeable as well as reliable for long term use. The ver2 battery will provide power to the motor, so that this bike can be used as an electric bike or electric motor cycle. When ver2 is in motor cycle mode, both pedals will set themselves at the lowest position. One of our favorite aspects is that the battery also serves as a power source to the any gadgets stored in the compartment located underneath the seat. Easily recharge your laptop,cellphone, ipod or any other electronic gadgets you decide to embark with. Fujimura also designed the handles, pedals and seat to be foldable so the ver2 can fit in very narrow spaces making it convenient to park. More images after the jump!

Someone has obviously never ridden a bike in the wind. This would be horrible in even the slightest breeze. The idea is interesting but it needs some rethinking.
This thing will topple in any kind of side wind to speak of… there is a reason why road bikes don’t present much of surface area.
There are designer issues with it, too, like the square shape being arbitrary and not communicating anything about the bike’s purpose, facing, etc. But mostly it’s just impractical.
i guess mds is the only one who understands. as long as there is no wind, its perfect, but with just a little breeze, it not so comfortable. When you put a rear disk-wheel in your current bike, you will notice, and a disk front wheel is terrible. cycling in a straight line wont be possible.
It looks very nice, but its far from user friendly….
haha. I would love to see you cycle that thing outside in even the lightest breeze you would struggle to stay upright. Muppet! I bet the designer has never even ridden a bike hahaha

This is a classic case of form over function. On a windy day this bike would be deadly. Imagine riding it across a bridge when a gust of wind blows you off into the sea? Silly and dangerous.
